Selective Anthracene Photooxidation over Titania‐supported Single Atom Catalysts

چکیده
Abstract Single‐atom catalysts (SACs) often show exceptionally high performance per metal loading. Besides benefiting from a better atom utilisation, the metal‐support interaction is more pronounced in SACs compared to traditional nanoparticle catalysts. Thus, using photochemical conversions of great advantage where rapid reactions depend on synergistic active site with photoactive support. Here we importance this by maximizing site/support interface SACs. As an example, examine oxidation reaction anthracene anthracene‐9,10‐endoperoxide (EPO) presence 0.1 wt% Pt/TiO 2 . Our give six‐fold improvement dense packed (TOF=113 mMol Anthracene g Pt −1 min ‐−1 for SAC). We attribute synergy between and Moreover, that photocatalytic conversion possible photons lower energy (2.7 eV) than bandgap pristine TiO (E =3.0–3.2 thanks organic doping oxide.

Single atom catalysts (SACs) are highly desirable for the effort to maximize the efficiency of metal atom use. However, the synthesis of SACs is a major challenge that largely depends on finding an appropriate supporting substrate to achieve a well-defined and highly dispersed single atom. This work demonstrates that, based on the density functional theory (DFT) calculation, graphyne is a good ...

We have determined the structure of a complex rhodium carbonyl chloride [Rh(CO)2Cl] molecule adsorbed on the TiO2(110) surface by the normal incidence x-ray standing wave technique. The data show that the technique is applicable to reducible oxide systems and that the dominant adsorbed species is undissociated with Rh binding atop bridging oxygen and to the Cl found close to the fivefold coordi...

Single-atom catalysts maximize the utilization of supported precious metals by exposing every single metal atom to reactants. To avoid sintering and deactivation at realistic reaction conditions, single metal atoms are stabilized by specific adsorption sites on catalyst substrates. Here we show by combining photoelectron spectroscopy, scanning tunnelling microscopy and density functional theory...
متن کاملThermally stable single-atom platinum-on-ceria catalysts via atom trapping.
Catalysts based on single atoms of scarce precious metals can lead to more efficient use through enhanced reactivity and selectivity. However, single atoms on catalyst supports can be mobile and aggregate into nanoparticles when heated at elevated temperatures. High temperatures are detrimental to catalyst performance unless these mobile atoms can be trapped. We used ceria powders having simila...
متن کاملAlcohol selective oxidation over modified foam-silver catalysts
Catalysts based on silver supported on foam ceramics and modified by Zr, Ce and La oxides have been studied in the process of partial oxidation of methanol to formaldehyde. The foam catalysts exhibit high catalytic, mechanical and gas -dynamic properties exceeding the characteristics of conventional crystalline and supported silver samples. Modifying additives of Zr and Ce oxides raise activity...
